Hi friends!
I have to say, I am riding a high from last Saturday's Marketplace event. It was my first jewelry booth EVER and was so much fun! Despite the hot weather and pandemic fears, people still came out and supported all of us. I definitely recommend visiting the Marketplace at East Nashville if you can. They have food trucks, live music and the vendors have some really amazing handcrafted items. I even bought a few things!
HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED
SCRATCHING THE CREATIVE ITCH
For those of you that don't know me, I am obsessed with all things DIY, Pinterest, building, making, planning, etc. Even throwing a simple BBQ, I go overboard with decor and food.
Well, last winter, I decided I wanted to make a couple little sets of stud earrings for myself. I probably saw some on Pinterest. So I went out and bought myself some white polymer clay and started molding. Soon, I was molding and baking and painting tons of earrings. Then I started buying more colors and mixing them into gorgeous marbled patterns and soon I had hundreds of earrings.
SELLING
This is when I started selling on Etsy. If anyone has ever sold on Etsy, it's easy to do if you have a few items, but hundreds? yeah, don't go that route. They want .20 per post whether you sell it or not. It's robbery. So I remembered that had an old Wix website from way back and decided to upgrade to a business account. After that was created, I turned on my marketing brain and created earring cards, because presentation is everything.
AWAY WE GO
I have now been selling for a couple weeks now. I love every minute of it. It truly is therapeutic. And I LOVE making for all of you. Tell me what you want and I'll do it. =) I am excited to show y'all my new creations, keep an eye out for my next post!
